STRATÉGIE DE L’OMS SUR L’EAU, L’ASSAINISSEMENT ET L’HYGIÈNE 2018-2025

Download – STRATÉGIE DE L’OMS SUR L’EAU, L’ASSAINISSEMENT ET L’HYGIÈNE 2018-2025

Title: WHO STRATEGY ON WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE 2018-2025

Traditionally, WHO’s activities have focused on drinking water, sanitation and hygiene components since the Organization’s inception in 1948. Sanitation and hygiene are integrated into WHO’s constitution. The Organization has regularly issued health-related guidelines and WASH best practice publications to help countries develop national standards, support regulations and establish effective monitoring systems. For decades, WHO has monitored access to water and sanitation at the global and national levels. While the Organization has set iconic priorities over the years, technical work on WASH issues has been constant and is often included in broader initiatives.

The WHO WASH strategy detailed here was developed in response to Member State resolution WHA64.4 and within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2025 completion date for the strategy is proposed to allow both a reasonably manageable lead time and time to adopt a new WHO strategy in 2025 to make adjustments in the last five years of the SDG period.
