The Way Forward
The systems level approach to faecal sludge management (FSM) developed in this book should be seen as a building block for the future design and operation of functional and sustainable FSM systems. FSM is a new and rapidly growing fi eld, and improvements and gains in knowledge are rapidly occurring.
