Kenya Economic Youth Network (KEYNET) main mandate is to advocate for youth development through empowerment and access to development resources by youth in marginalized and disadvantaged rural communities and urban slums. KEYNET engages in lobbying for women and youth rights through women and youth mobilization activities and dissemination of empowering knowledge through pro-active, innovative and creative youth based centered activities KEYNET keeping in line with the promotion of Human Health Rights & Reduction of Non-Revenue Water Reforms in Kenya was funded to carrying out a 7 months ‘Ma-Youth Tujiusishe na Wash Project’ in selected sub-county of Kakamega County.
The main aim of this project is to enhance a Force for Positive Change towards proper health and sanitation through fostering reduction of non-revenue water and empowerment of the community and schools by the end of the project. The project was funded based on completion of the milestones. Under milestones the activities conducted included stakeholders forum, 2 schools and 1 community sensitization forums that targeted those areas that were in dire need of the intervention. The project conducted training on income Generation activities targeting group leaders to equip them with entrepreneurial skills that will promote sustainability of various WASH programs at the Community level.
