WEBINAR ON CLIMATE-SANITATION NEXUS

A partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between GGGI and the African Water and Sanitation Association (AFWASA) to work together to establish a regional program to strengthen skills on the climate-sanitation nexus.

In this sense, GGGI and AFWASA will co-host this webinar with the aim of fostering knowledge sharing on the sanitation-climate nexus.

The online webinar is expected to foster a better understanding of the links between the sanitation sector and global warming, as well as the initiatives currently being deployed in Africa to address these interrelated challenges in this sector.

The webinar will consist of three main segments:

Presentations on the climate-sanitation nexus:

Reducing emissions and building resilient sanitation systems.

(The presentation will examine how sanitation impacts climate change and how it is likely to be affected by it.

It will also explore GGGI’s actions to address the climate sanitation nexus, current opportunities to exploit and suggested solutions to minimize emissions and build robust sanitation systems.

The webinar aims to: – Strengthen understanding of the climate-sanitation nexus

– Highlight actions to address sanitation-related emissions and climate change vulnerability in Africa through technological advances

– Promote the exchange of know-how and experiences among participants on the climate-sanitation nexus.

The webinar attracted significant active participation from online participants.
